The Muppets (stylized as the muppets) is an American television comedy series co-created by Bill Brady and Bob Kushell. It was produced by ABC Studios and The Muppet Studio, following the critical and commercial success of the 2011 film of the same name and its sequel, Muppets Most Wanted.

Premise[]

The series is set in Los Angeles and depicts the everyday and professional lives of The Muppets during production of Up Late with Miss Piggy, a fictional late-night talk show starring Miss Piggy airing on ABC after Jimmy Kemmel Live!

Why It Was Cancelled[]

The most likely reason would be for the massive boycotts set up by the American Family Association and Parents Television Council, who deemed it unsuitable for family viewing; the latter was based on this by focusing on the mockumentary format of the series, including mentions of plastic surgery, "inside" business language being used in a crude manner, and the Muppets in a bar consuming alcoholic beverages.
